Comments and Questions:
The author devotes the thesis to the topic of energy security of the EU with focus on oil and gas trade with Russia. The topic is a current one, the author provides a different point of view on the issue comparing published papers and literature. The thesis is logically structured, the theoretical background is established in a good way, the whole text is coherent.
The aim of thesis it ”to explore the possible effects of trade in oil and gas with Russia on the EU’s energy security”. From my point of view, the goal is completely fulfilled thanks to provided analysis of the EU oil and gas trade with Russia.
Concerning the formal requirements, I appreciate the scope and quality of used literature. The text contains errors or typos very rarely. Some parts of thesis are written long-windedly, for this reason, they are more difficult to understand.
On the basis of above mentioned,I recommend the thesis for the defense and I suggest grade 1.
I ask for answering the following question during the thesis defence:
1. Concerning Russian state owned oil and gas companies which are also mentioned in the thesis, can you evaluate their position in the European Union and oil and gas industry?
1. Do you see a possibility of changing energy requirements of the EU in the future? If yes, would it change somehow oil and trade between the EU and Russia?
Conclusion: The Bachelor’s thesis is recommended for the defence.
Suggested Grade: 1
