Konkrétní připomínky a dotazy k práci:

The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to explore the differences or similarities between cultural theories and the personal experiences of people who lived in Finnish culture. I think that the aim should have been more specific, but I hope this aim was partially fulfilled. The theoretical part of the thesis presents basic facts about Finnish culture in a view of the Hofstede Model and by Trompenaar‘s model of national culture differences, and Cultural standards by Alexander Thomas. Individual chapters require the compilation of more sources, such as actual books and journal papers. These presented models are not connected with the practical part of the thesis sufficiently.

In the practical part, I would expect an application of the selected culture model, but in-depth interviews with twelve respondents to identify their attitudes towards Finnish culture (lifestyle, communication, family life, rules and values especially). All respondents are Czechs and there were interviewed by questions on Finnish culture. The serious limitation is the age of respondents that is between 18-35, therefore it is not possible to generalize the research results for the whole population and that limitation is not mentioned in the thesis. The sampling technique as well as the theoretical grounding of in-depth interviews are missing.

Then the list of questions with open answers is presented and then the interpretation of in-depth interviews that are in line with the standard procedure of the narrative technique. The answers are categorized by themes (lifestyle, communication, family life, education, rules and values) and unfortunately, the answers of some respondents are not covered in any theme. The chapter of Summary just summarize the main findings from these interviews without any suggestions and I miss a chapter on recommendations and implications for practice and. Any connections with the Cultural standards by Alexander Thomas are also missing.

From the formal point of view, the abstract should not be placed in the thesis and there are also typos Questions:

1) Could you present a connection of your findings with the Cultural standards by Alexander Thomas?

2) What are the implications of your thesis for business practice?
