In his thesis, the author deals with the topic that is very actual while affecting wide range of stakeholders in the European market (namely businesses, households, etc.) regarding the trading in natural gas as the commodity eventually. For the theoretical part, the author uses very up to date sources and it is well-structured. Yet, the thesis lacks the system of the literature review based on the identification of key words and set of peer-reviewed resources. There is no development or flow in terms of identification of the problem that needs to be addressed. At the same time, there is no clear difference between theoretical and practical parts. The referred data analysis is actually a description with the commentary of the analysis conducted by the reviewed sources. The practical and theoretical relevance of the thesis is highly limited. I appreciate the author´s effort to focus on the topic that will partly shake up geopolitical end economic environment in the EU in coming months and years.
Question:
Since the global demand for LNG production, distribution and its usage related to the value chains based on ocean shipping is booming thanks to its increasing importance as the most feasible fuel option addressing the globally binding IMO 2020 regulation (topic not mentioned in the thesis as a gas competitive factor at all), does the author identify any potential for the pipeline gas from Russia and the by-shipping-imported LNG to the EU being geographically complementary products in terms of LNG distribution and trading operations the EU? Please, address the question by using the Figure 4.
