Comments and Questions:
Master thesis SOCIAL MEDIA AND PRIVACY AWARENESS IN EGYPT authored by Mohamed Ismail is being defended for the second time, and it should be stated, that this version is far better than the original one. It follows the required standards, has reasonable structure /both theoretical and practical part/ and is typographically much better than the last one (however, there are still a couple of mistakes – different fonts, indentations, ...). Contentwise, the work has over 100 pages (incl. appendixes), which is sufficient, theoretical part introduces the situation in Egypt, literature review summarizes well the state of the art.
Chapter 3 shortly describes Research methodology, main contribution of the work lies in chapter 4, where mostly descriptive statistics is being employed, however some hypotheses were tested as well. The recommendations mentioned in chapter 5 are a bit general and unsurprising and based not on author’s own work, but external references. Despite my above-mentioned reservation, presented master thesis meets the requirements and can be accepted. Questions: 1) How do you see the future of social media in Egypt? Will it be more tightly controlled like in China? 2) Present the most interesting results of your survey.
Conclusion: The Master’s thesis is recommended for the defence.
