Comments and Questions:

The thesis is devoted to the business and investment environment of China. The author´s goal has been to prove that China is an attractive target market for investment and to provide recommendations for

“optimization” of the business environment and attracting investment into high-tech industries. The thesis is composed of three parts. The first one is devoted to the business and investment environment of China that is considered from various aspects and divided into “hard” and “soft” environments. It is not clear why the author used such a “classification”. While analyzing the business environment, the author aims at the identification of motivation factors for the high-tech industries. In the second part, the author deals with the situation in the high-tech and labor-intensive industries in China. The third part is reserved for

recommendations on how to improve the business environment in order that the motivation of investors would be stronger in the high-tech industries. The author´s approach to achieving the goal is quite original and sometimes through the text, it is not clear how the research supports its aim. Nevertheless, she proved that she is able to apply the knowledge acquired during her study. The thesis fulfills the requirements given on this type of academic work, has a logical structure, and provides clear and understandable conclusions. The format, however, should be improved. Questions for the discussion: 1) You see a high potential for investment related to research and development. How would you consider the impact of Covid-19 on the motivation of investors, namely from abroad, to decide on such an investment?

2) What do see as the main obstacle for limitation the investment into labor-intensive industries in China?

Conclusion: The Bachelor Thesis is recommended for the defence.

Suggested Grade: 2
