Comments and Questions:

The thesis focuses on a gender equality issue from an interesting angle when the author explores why the Nordic countries are top-performers in gender equality indexes but far behind the top positions when measuring the share of women in managerial positions.

The thesis is based on solid theoretical background of rich and up-to-date resources.

The research part combines the primary and secondary data. Respected gender indicators and sources are used for analysis of secondary data. The primary qualitative research is accompanied with excerpts of the interviews, which provide interesting insight for the reader. The discussion part synthesizes all findings.

The thesis is presented in enjoyable use of English.

Questions:

1) The introduced quota policy in Norway and Iceland had a short-term worsening effect and you found out that it was minimized within two years (p.50). Based on your research, would you suggest introduction of quotas as a beneficial policy tool in the long-term? Or do you consider them useful just for opening and maintaining society-wide discussion leading to gender equality in less forcible way?

2) What can educational institutions like VŠE do to increase success of gender equality in the business and society?

Conclusion: The Bachelor Thesis is recommended for the defence.
