Comments and Questions:
The author has assessed the trade and investment links between the Czech Republic and China in the context of the One Belt One Road initiative and the 17+1 process. In order to achieve her goals, she analyzed a significant number of macro-economic data as well as policy and current related issues. The development of specific Chinese companies in the Czech Republic and the satisfaction of Chinese
entrepreneurs in operating their business, work, and life in the Czech Republic is illustrated by an interview with the Huawei Consumer Business Department manager in Prague. The author applied the Dunning’s conventional FDI theory to examine the driving force of China’s strategic expansion to Central Europe and the methodology of Revealed Comparative advantage to explore the trading characteristics between Czech and China based on comparative advantages. The thesis fulfils the requirements given on this type of academic work, it has a clear structure, methodology and conclusions. The author accomplished relevant literature research. She cooperated with me as a supervisor on a permanent basis. Questions for the defence: 1 What are the perspective sectors for the Czech – Chinese economic cooperation? 2. How do you consider the benefits of the EU – China Investment Agreement signed the 30 December 2020 for the development of mutual investment between the Czech Republic and China?
Conclusion: The Master Thesis is recommended for the defence.
