1. Definition of problem
The main topic of the bachelor thesis is practical application of selected financial analysis methods of production company in order to define its problems, weaknesses or advantages. The ability to identify above mentioned facts is essential part of skills for all financial managers and because of it the topic of the thesis can be assessed as a topic relevant to the bachelor degree of study. The aim of the thesis is precisely mentioned in the introduction and results and comments agree with it.
2. Methodology
When it comes to methodology used in the thesis, it can be confirmed that the author used relevant methods i.e. common size analysis, ratio analysis and Du Pont analysis. These methods can be assessed as basic well-known methods, which are described in detail in available literature.
Nevertheless, it is a pity, that author's description in the case of certain financial ratios does not provide more details of them. For example, in the case of profitability ratio more comments could be added. With regard to Du Pont analysis it must be stated that the author used its very simple version.
Decomposition of return on equity only by the main three indicators is correct but this way is too simple. Moreover, theoretical part of thesis is an opportunity to cite sufficiently available information sources, which in the case of this bachelor thesis cannot be completely confirmed.
3. Results
The practical part of bachelor thesis reveals a better level of author's skills compared to the theoretical part. The author's calculations declare her ability to use corporate's data for analysing observed period and to make certain conclusions. When it comes to the author's comments it can be mentioned that sometimes are simple (f. i. quick ratio or ROCE), but the most of them confirm author's ability to identify problem areas. The fact which unfortunately decreases the level of the thesis is too short Du Pont analysis. If the author had devoted more attention to it, the analysis would have been made more precisely and would have provided more detailed information discovering financial situation of corporate. On the other hand, it has to be highlighted that final assessment of corporate's performance provides interesting details declaring good author's knowledge of selected area.
4. Effective communication and formal requirements
In the case of formal aspects, the bachelor thesis meets most of them, nevertheless, a little mistake can be identified. The names of chapter 3 and 4 differ from their names in the assignment.
