Konkrétní připomínky a dotazy k práci:

The aim of the thesis is to provide an analysis of the environmental influences on migration in the sub-Saharan region. The chosen topic is very current and relevant for the author´s field of study. The thesis aims to answer two research questions: Is there an agreement between scholars about the link between migration and environmental changes? Is the environment a fundamental cause of international migration in the region? Even though I very much appreciate the extensive literature review in the first chapter, I would recommend dividing it into more subparts. Likewise, the thesis is very well grounded in theory; however, I miss the thorough description of the methodology used. Thus, it does not allow sufficient verification of the suitability of the application of the chosen framework. Many examples and numbers provided in the thesis are derived from the downloaded figures; however, I would appreciate the author´s own output from the analysed data. Nonetheless, the author demonstrated orientation in the chosen topic and the ability to apply the acquired knowledge to analyse and answer a research question, I found some stylistic and grammatical errors; however, they did not affect the overall comprehension of the thesis.

Therefore, I would just recommend numbering the chapters and subchapters according to the guidelines.

Conclusion: The Master Thesis is recommended for the defence. Suggested Grade: 2 1. What are the challenges for the sub-Saharan countries to mitigate the negative effects of the

migration caused by environmental issues?

2. You have mentioned one of the vital factors of migration the colonial experience. How exactly this experience affects the sub-Saharan part of Africa speaking of environmental aspects of migration?

Závěr: Diplomovou práci doporučuji k obhajobě.
