Title: Active Controlled Structure
Thesis version: 1
Student: Srikanth Sreethar
1. Achieved results
Student has successfully designed laboratory model for active vibration control on lattice structure.
Model is consisting of designed mechanical parts, shaker, active piezoelectric element, accelerometer and control device dSpace. Construction design was done in Creo SW. After the assembly of the model, student performed identification procedure in frequency domain using Bruel and Kjaer HW and SW. Identified functions were approximated in Laplace domain and these results were used for the creation of mathematical model, which served for control algorithm design which was classical direct velocity feedback. Student created the system for suppression of three selected modes of vibration and successfully validated the idea for implementing piezoelectric actuator in the construction of the lattice construction.
2. Problematics of thesis
Active vibration control is a popular scientific topic and is part of world leading conferences. The topic could be used with some amount of imagination on real buildings or bridges. The thesis' topic difficulty was corresponding to the masters standards.
3. Student’s proceed to work at thesis
Student's approach was responsible. He finished the thesis in time.
4. Formal essentials of thesis
The whole thesis is written in clear and understandable way. I have not found any mistakes nor omissions.
5. Questions to student
Comment, which modes cannot be suppressed, why, and what should be changed if You wanted to control these.
6. General revaluation of thesis
Student successfully fulfilled all points of the assignment and I recommend this work for defense.
