The thesis is largely based on a theoretical conceptualization of culture(business culture/corporate culture/etc.). Based on a review of literature author identified key theoretical approaches to culture within the social sciences. He applied the social theory to scrutinize the flawed
understanding of culture within the business studies literature.

Although not really innovative from the social sciences perspective, the thesis presents an important critique of the ways business studies literature employs and understands the concept of culture.
