Konkrétní připomínky a dotazy k práci:

The thesis engages with a very relevant topic of the Eastern Partnership. While the EP itself is a rather mainstream topic in research literature, the focus on Moldova is still underresearched so the added value of the thesis is clear. The thesis is logically structured, the goal is clearly stated and theory thoroughly described. However, the research design (methodology and data collection) are only briefly touched upon.

An elaboration would have helped the reader to follow the arguments particularly in the last two chapters which seem to be rather descriptive. While appreciating that the student selected the point of view of the EU, I must admit that the analytical part deals mainly with the Russian actions and the EU actorness seems to be mentioned only ´by the way´. Also, the operationalization could have been more systematic and detailed. Formally, the thesis fulfils all the main requirements. However, there remain quite a few grammar mistakes and typing errors, e.g. the formatting of the table of contents is very confusing and the style of references varies throughout the text. Despite all these remarks, I really appreciate the effort that the student put into the writing and recommend the thesis for defence. Depending on the defence,

I recommend the grade 1 or 2. The following questions are suggested: According to you, who has the main impact on the failure of the EU actorness in Moldova – the EU itself, Russia or the domestic actors? How about future developments – do you see the EU membership coming any time soon? What would it depend on? The EU approach or rather on the stance of Moldova?

Závěr: Diplomovou práci doporučuji k obhajobě.
