Comments and Questions:
The thesis ”Use of social media by political parties of India in comparison of EU” is interesting mainly because it presents a very exotic destination from European perspective: India. It shows that even in the second-most populous country in the world, the influence of social media on politics is really significant, with millions of visitors and followers corresponding to the country’s population of over billion (such numbers are not imaginable in our country:). The author has approached the topic responsibly, the theoretical part is interesting and widely approached, but the most useful is the practical part, which monitors the use of social media in the politics of contemporary India. The work could be faulted for a bit limited use of statistical apparatus /the author could have used more advanced statistical methods to evaluate the data/, but nevertheless the results arrived at by the author are valid and correct.
Questions for defence: 1) Briefly present the major differences between Europe (and Czech Republic) and India in terms of social media usage. Are e.g. fake news bigger problem there, or here? 2) Do you think that the entry of social media into politics has been positive or negative for the democratic process in the country? Why?
Conclusion: The Master Thesis is recommended for the defence.
