REPORT ON BACHELOR THESIS

Topic: Analyis of selected IPO in the Chinese Financial Market Student: MINGXIN ZHENG

The submitted bachelor thesis was written in line with assigned topic – the analysis of IPO at a given market. At first, it must be said that the author carefully followed the outline as stated in the Thesis specification.

Thus, besides the Introduction and Conclusion, the thesis consists of three chapters. The first one is focused on detailed description of the principles of the IPO. In the next chapter, the author studies how the IPO works at two exchanges in China. Finally, Chapter 4 is focused on deep analysis of several recent IPOs in China.

As it was already stated, the author presents the view on the IPO, its history in China and its main principles on this market in Chapter 2. In the following chapter, the author briefly characterizes two relevant exchanges of China, ie. in Shangai and Shenzen and analysis the conditions of IPO and the process of it, including listing procedure and industry distribution.

Chapter 4 is probably the most interesting part of the thesis. The author describes particular details of four companies, in particular Dahua Stock, Bankof China, ST Chaori and Kweichow Moutai and also describes some of their features that might be regarded as relevant for the IPO’s success.

Finally, the author provides a very brief comparison of particular findings as concerns all four selected companies.

Although the text is sometimes incomplete and several formal errors can be found, from the overall point of view the thesis should be recommended to defense.
