Comments and Questions:
The final thesis focuses on the modern trends in retail business and on the comparison of the Czech Republic and Russia in this domain. The analysis of each market is well performed and deep, although being mostly based on Passport and other similar sources of data. The comparison itself and the
description of trends, on the contrary, could be improved, especially with regards to academic sources (for the latter). The thesis also mentions “qualitative research” in introduction but none is performed.
Therefore, I recommend the thesis for defence with the gradevery good.
Questions for the defence:
1. In the opinion of the author, what is the future of “offline” (brick and mortar) retail business in the world, Czech Republic, and Russia? With the current trends, does it have one?
2. Several Russian retail companies and e-shops are entering the market of the EU / Western Europe.
One could name Svetofor, LitRes, Wildberries (Germany, Poland, UK etc.). Have the Russian retail companies become competitive enough to gain a market share in these markets?
Conclusion: The Bachelor Thesis is recommended for the defence.
Suggested Grade: 2
