Comments and Questions:
The presented bachelor thesis offers a topic ”Migration and its effect on the European countries – the case of Germany”. The author sets the paper’s aim to be to ”outline the impact of immigration on Germany. ”The thesis is structured into three logical chapters. The paper does not really show sufficient professional contribution of the author; however, it does contribute to a better understanding of the topic. The length of the bachelor thesis is borderline short. My biggest concern regarding the bachelor thesis is that most of the presented ”analysis” comes from secondary sources. The whole text is just an overview with little of the author’s input. The bachelor thesis is also short of the author’s own graphs and figures. Bibliography lacks organization, such as being listed alphabetically. The formal aspect of the paper is otherwise at an
acceptable level for a bachelor thesis.
I suggest the following questions for the defence:
1/ In your conclusion, you state that the ”country should invest in research methods in order to fully understand the macroeconomic impacts of immigration which would help in eliminating any negative impacts”. What research methods are you suggesting?
2/ How has the COVID pandemic influenced the German immigration policy?
Conclusion: The Bachelor Thesis is recommended for the defence.
